opinions wanted!

do you have a minute? can you do me a favor? click on the comment button below and let me know your preference regarding how many posts per day you prefer on pcnotes.

  1. several (4-6) short posts with maybe one longer one mixed in? or is that information overload?
  2. just a few (1-3) posts that are more text-heavy with multiple pictures for each post?

it would be very helpful for me to know this as polymer clay notes heads towards its six-month birthday (april 2nd) – i’m tweaking everything and getting ready to think big for the next six month milestone.

i’m delighted with the progress pcnotes has made in such a short time. there are already several hundred people from around the world who read polymer clay notes every day (umm…even more than that but i’m being a bit conservative until i do all the math, so for now, let’s just say several hundred). WOW!

THANK YOU! my dear readers, you have made this a fantastic journey. are you having fun? i know i am, and now i need your help. i know you are out there. my stats counter told me so! please come out, even just for a moment, and leave a comment letting me know how many times a day you want to see pictures, inspiration, tutorials, quotes, videos and other goodies from my notebook.

thanks so much. i’m looking forward to the next chapter. i hope you are too.

and here’s a little love unfurling just for you!

I’m always in favor of information overload. You have a knack for finding interesting things and jump-starting my creativity in all sorts of different directions.

That said, it must be a pain in the butt to update so frequently – so thanks for all you do!

  5. Libby says:

I love how many different things you can find to share with us each day. I know it must be a ton of work, but I really enjoy the variety. (and I have fun checking several times a day to see what’s been added!)

  6. Tin_Liva says:

Dear Susan, I will say like Vinnie Pooh says – both (variants) ! and without the bread, please :)
at first I very like style You have now in Your Online Notebook. so many different aspects of art and all are inspirational. If I have feeling of overload, i can switch of my computer, but when I’m ready again I can few days read Your blog for hours…. nights… weeks… :) and of course some (maybe one? or more?) detailed text with more pictures will be also beautiful.
so, but if You will change something I believe it will be a nice surprise.
(thank You from Latvia :) )

  7. Debbie says:

I love the site and feel disappointed if there is just one or two items a day. I too love to check it several times just to see what neat goodies you have come up with. For me too the more the merrier. That said I know what a huge amount of work it must be for you and respect which ever way you want to go. Thanks for all the inspiration.
    Debbie

  8. Ohh Susan, I love, love, love your online notebook. I tell all my students from my ‘Design Synergy’ classes to check it out. I like the sound of OPT 2.

I like less text in a blog but I like reading yours because the texts are good enough to keep my interest… be free!

  13. Carolyn Bond says:

I only found this site about a week ago and I love it – I can’t really choose between you options – so think I’d like variety – a couple of links one day with more photos and information, thenmore articles (but briefer) another day.

    Carolyn

  17. Jo says:

I love the goodies you give us. and I would agree with ” the more the merrier” concept, I am lifted and inspired by loads of fresh news and pix. Thanks

  18. Cindy says:

Option #1! I visit every day, usually in the evening, and love seeing several items. I have really enjoyed and appreciated your sharing your inpirations with us. Just one thing, your page takes a VERY long time to load on dial-up. Much longer, for instance, that Polymer Clay Daily. I ask for it to load, and then go get a cup of tea!

  19. I love, love, love seeing as many pictures as you manage to find to post and having the link to the site if I want to investigate further. Trust your inner compass — it has certainly served all of us better than we have the right to ask for. Many thanks for all you do in broadening the art community while making the world community a little more intimate and connected.

  20. Linda C says:

Thank you!!! for all your hard work – I love the variety – so much inspiration and fun : )

  21. Molly says:

EIther works well for me, because I have you on RSS…so it lets me know when there is content.

  22. loretta lam says:

Hi Susan. I have to agree that the numbers of things you come up with is a great part of the attraction. But we all know it is a HUGE work load and no one would fault you for cutting back. I have to add that you would be the perfect person to go antiquing with…I know you’d find some treasure that I would never see. Thanks for your gift to us.

  23. Lee Ann Armstrong says:

Please, sir (er, madam), may I have more. I like the variety #1 and if I want more text, then a link to the originating (is originating even a real word?) site sends me exploring. I, too, may check in more than once a day. It’s always a delight to find something new. I can’t begin to imagine the time involved but what a gift you have given us. THANK YOU!

  24. Lizzy says:

I check this blog every day and as far as I’m concerned, you can post as many times as you’d like and I will check out everything. This blog is a breath of sunshine after a summer shower. Thank you so much.

    Lizzy

PS. I’m a political blogger so I know what work it is to run an informative blog. For me, I just have to take time out of the government’s failing our troops and our country, to stop and smell the polyclay. ahhhh.

  25. Janet says:

This is one of the liveliest sites I visit. I don’t think you could post “too much” for my tastes. Love all the pix and text. I come away inspired after each time. If I had to choose one of the options, it would be number #1. I love the variety

  26. Crystal says:

I love all your posts and look forward to htem throughout the day. So I say stick with number 1, 4-6 posts a day!

  27. Hi Susan,

I love variety, so I’d go more for option n°1, but I guess it’s a lot of work for you… So whatever appeals to you best I suppose will be the good choice :-)
Thanks for the pleasure of the eyes you bring everyday.

  28. Kathi says:

I love bunches of posts. I come two or three times a day to see whats been added :)

Hello I’m from Puerto Rico and I read polymer clay notes every single day. I love just the way it is. I was inspired by post – http://polymerclaynotes.com/?p=839 and came up with this – http://www.flickr.com/photos/creaciones-dilan/422050560/
thank you :) You’re notebook is such big inspiration for me keep up the wonderful work…

  30. Jeanne Dumond says:

I like several posts a day, the more the better. I love the short notes that come with them. Suits my ADD personality to a T.

  31. I can only echo what alot of other people say,-the more the merrier! I also log on several times a day to see what’s new, so many of your posts have been truly inspirational for me and great starting points for my work. I love the non PC-specific items as well as the tutorials. I have been meaning to say this for ages, very remiss of me.

I suspect your estimate of a few 100 is highly conservation, i’m telling everyone i know here in the UK about PCN whether they have heard of PC of not!!

Please Keep up your really excellent work

I’d say whatever is easiest for you is fine with me. It’s such a joy seeing what treasures you have uncovered but it must take hours and hours on your part. Do it whatever way works best for you, just don’t stop!

  34. The more, the better!
More pix, more words, more everything!

Sometimes I have the feeling that I would need more time to realy read your blog and check all the links and not only look at the wonderful pictures you always find for us. I love your blog and I check it more than once a day, but I would not be disappointed to find only one post a day.
    Nadja

  38. Christine says:

I’m an everyday reader. I click on during my lunch to scan what you’ve got for the day then if it is a longer post that I am interested in, I read it over the weekend when you don’t have new posts. So which ever of the 2 formats that you are using now works perfectly for me.

Thanks for all your hard work! I look forward to checking your blog everyday.

    Christine

  39. Mary says:

lots of short snipits are great!
Thanks for being here and doing such a great job!

  40. Susan, I am a big fan of yours ever since the beginning and I check several times a day. For me there is no information overload, I enjoy the variety. I love the non PC-specific items as well as the tutorials. Every new post fires my creativity in many different ways but I guess it’s a lot of work for you. So whatever appeals to you best is perfect for me , just don’t stop!
Thanks for all of the inspiration and fun in this wonderful blog, it’s really a gift!
    Best wishes from Hanover/Germany/Europe. Gabriele.

  41. Elaine says:

    Keep it mixed up!

But if I had to pick, the shorter blurbs with the occasional longer one snuck in.

  42. Judy says:

I love your site and the more you post the better I like it. You’re one of my first stops when I’m up at 0400 to wake up for work and you make my day more fun. Keeps my brain busy with ideas instead of how busy I am and the patients looking for me!
    thanks for you

  43. Louise says:

I prefer short notes but am not against a long one from time to time.
After all if it’s long it’s because it’s dear to you and I am curious enough to learn more.

  44. kristina says:

Hello from Slovenia – I read your notes every day and I would like to have lots and lots of messages all the time. I like everything – such diversity and such wonderful photos.

  45. Aldona Grinius says:

Bravo Susan, Such a rich variety of interesting articles/pics.. your posts never fail to inform, entertain, and inspire….it would not offend me if you paced yourself and rationed them out,,,, you need to live your life too…the last thing that one would want is for you to burn yourself out and feel pressured to produce… Thank you for your exellent efforts.

  46. Toby says:

You know me dear Susan… the more the merrier and I will continue to try to find you more inspiration. You are my bloggin’ inspiration!!!!

  47. sam from canada says:

I believe from reading these responses that as I had suspected you have amassed a huge audience, which numbers 1000’s or much greater. Sitting here in a small town in Canada like the rest of the world I check this blog and polymerclaydaily daily. I was in Punta Cana last week and stole onto the internet to check there as well !! We polymer clay addicts are a crazy lot. Your website is truly inspirational, I will continue to read and enjoy as long as you continue to thrill us with your search . Either option is great for those of us waiting for any tidbit of joy. Many thanks again for the hard work.

  48. Jeanne Rhea says:

I try to check in every evening. You always have lots of great links. What I want to know—when do you take time to clay? ;) I passed your link out last week to our polymer clay guild and so many people have written me to tell me how much they love it. So this is for all of those who don’t have time to post.

  49. Sandy says:

I too visit your site many times through out an average day and love the multiple postings. But I wouldn’t want you to burn out from all the effort so what ever you feel like doing on any given day is what I would like to see. Plus feel free to recycle your previous posts like they do on tv. I enjoy your writing and insights. I don’t know how to express my gratitude, thank you seems so lame, for all the wonderful art and artists you have shared with us. I never would have found them on my own. Thank you, thank you thank you.

  50. Marina says:

    Susan!
I love your blog and ever since I have discovered it I am drawn against my will to check at least twice a day! I am always excited to see that you have added since I last looked at the site and I like the variety. I send some of the links to my niece and nephew and they are sooo impressed at the fun sites “their aunt” has found!
I think you should write and add links as much or as little as you feel on that day!
    Bravo and thank you!

  51. pat says:

I’m a faithful visiter, I check your site everyday. I love the variety and all the information I find here. Each day is surprise and always stimulating and interesting. I love the multiple postings… don’t know how you manage it all. Someone mentioned possible burn out. What’s best for you?

  52. Anonymous says:

    Excellent job so far.

  53. Kerri says:

Hi – only 1 request – DON’T STOP ! I discovered your blog about 2 months ago & since then can’t wait to find some new inspiraton every day. Living in South Africa has many advantages but unfortunatly we don’t have a craft base as in America, so the internet is my favourite companion, your blog being right at the top of my list. South Africa also dosen’t have many workshops, but reading polymer clay notes has more than filled that gap for me & I must admit my work has improved since finding your notes – thank you so much !

  54. myra katz says:

My opinion…don’t change a good thing! Unless you think you are making it better. :-) I love how you are extending my horizons.

  55. Hi Susan,
Even when I only have 5 minutes to escape from my activities, your blog is a must see, and i thank you so much for providing me those minutes of pure delight.
Keep bringing your visions and passion for art as long as it’s your pleasure!
    Best wishes from Lisbon-Portugal. Cristina.

  56. Dakotah Flannery says:

Please continue as is. I have found so many wonderful sites, thanks to you and your site. Much inspiration.
    Thank you so much.

  57. Better late than never. I love polymerclaynotes, both styles, and there is no reason not to mix it up and do both, sometimes several short posts, sometimes longer ones. You offer so much of interest, I’ll never be without inspiration!

Thank you, thank you, thank you,

  58. Kristy says:

Because most people cant get to their computer every day, as many as you can would be awesome. When I am at the comp. I look and look for hours. So to me… more is more.

  59. Laura Godler says:

Daily art muse and polymerclaydaily, and Tory Hughes Lognotes, everyday, faithfully, quality sites all. It’s like having Sunday dinner every day. You can never have enough inspiration as a polymer artist…as an artist, period. Kudos to Tory Hughes for steering me to the Muse in her Lognotes. So don’t over-tweak or eliminate or change. JUST GIVE US WHAT YOU’VE GOT EVERY DAY. WE CAN TAKE IT. ALL. We can never have too much of the muse or the clay to go with her. And to those interested in MORE…check out the NYTimes website under Art & Design category. Specifically a posting on August 9th called A World Springs to Life on an Urban Wall. A fantastic wall Mural on the corner of Houston Street and Bowery (NY) done by the Brazilian brothers Otavio and Gustavo Pandolfo who call themselves Os Gemeos,(Portuguese for the Twins). See it in person until March or on line at the NYTimes website.
Does the Muse welcome these kinds of mural and street art sitings?
