pod envy

louise hibbert uses wood, paint and resin to fabricate plankton-inspired organic vessels, while sarah parker-eaton relies on silver and gold to express a different interpretation of the microscopic organisms.
since joining forces in 2002, hibbert and parker-eaton have been busy creating an astounding body of work that is inspired by australian seed pods, the plankton that drove their individual works and the sea-life that they both love.
the australian seed-pod collection pictured here marks a new direction for the pair and each
finely detailed pod vessel opens to surprise and delight the viewer.
many thanks to catherine verdiere for uncovering these treasures.
i had to remind myself to breathe while i studied the pictures…they took my breath away.
read more about hibbert and parker-eaton’s earlier work here.
